I am an environmental scientist, researcher, and consultant dedicated to the idea that technical expertise is most powerful in the hands of the public. My work lives at the intersection of environmental justice, public health, and environmental sustainability, rooted in the belief that protecting our natural resources is inseparable from protecting our people.
With a background spanning state regulation, academic research, and grassroots community organizing, I offer a holistic perspective on environmental challenges. Whether I am researching emerging contaminants in stormwater and wastewater or facilitating community co-visioning in "Cancer Alley," my goal remains the same: to translate science into the political and social muscle necessary for real-world change.
For fellow scientists and researchers, I am a collaborator who understands the rigor required to move data from the lab to the landscape. For community members, I am an advocate committed to transparency, autonomy, and safety. For consulting clients, I am a strategic partner who navigates the complexities of policy and infrastructure with a grounded, human-centered approach.
Lastly, I am more than a researcher; I am a writer focused on the human heart of environmental equity. I believe that documenting our daily lives and emotions, although messy and difficult, is vital for our survival in this field. By moving from the academic to the personal, I work to turn individual reflections into a shared energy that sustains both our communities and our movement.
